In addition to that, the Amsoil Synthetic European Car Motor Oil Formula labels have been revised slightly. It was revised to remove the focus from SAPS (Sulphated Ash, Phosphorous, Sulphur) levels (Lower levels of SAPS are desired in order to protect modern day emissions systems. The way lower SAPS is achieved is typically by reducing the additive levels in the oil) and place the focus squarely on emissions system protection. The new Synthetic European Car Motor Oil products labeling will now be reflected in the new labels as the following:
European Car Formula 0W-40 Classic Emissions System Protection Synthetic Motor Oil (EFO)

- European Car Formula 5W-30 Improved Emissions System Protection Synthetic Motor Oil (AEL)
European Car Formula 5W-40 Improved Emissions System Protection Synthetic Motor Oil (AFL)
The labels now reflect the changes on the labels of the inventory now being sold of the new Synthetic European Car Motor Oil specifications.

SAPS levels were a clear way of distinguishing the effectiveness between oils within the Synthetic European Car Motor Oil products. Nevertheless, the SAPS indexes on previous labels and advertisements seem to have added confusion for regular consumers.
They didn’t know anything about SAPS levels and why they were important. SAPS levels are important for guaranteeing that todays sensitive motor vehicle emissions systems on current European model vehicles function as they were designed to. Even though the labels have been updated to reflect the changes, we will proceed to furnish information about SAPS, even though its focus has been de-emphasized.
